Viceversa is a platform that focuses on the dialogue between the fields of architecture and visual arts, and political and societal issues.

The starting point of their projects lies in ob- serving, questioning, and analyzing the status quo, seeking to deliver a critical message that exposes the complexities of contemporary situations. It was founded in 2021 by Dorin Ștefan Adam and Laurian Ghinițoiu.

Dorin Ștefan Adam

Initiator of Viceversa.

Dorin Ștefan Adam (born in 1976) is an architect and founder of the architectural office MÂNADELUCRU. He is also an associate professor at Ion Mincu University in Bucharest, where he coordinates the second and third-year design studio.

Through academic guidance, he seeks to capture the position and role of the architect in a world in continuous transfor- mation and to help his students develop the ability to contemplate and react in an authentic way to the design briefs. As an architect, designer, and curator of a series of art and archi- tecture exhibitions, he also initiated a series of installations that combine architecture and visual arts to expose the character of forgotten and overlooked architectural heritage. He is focused on the theme of connecting architecture, cities, people and context.

Laurian Ghinițoiu

Initiator of Viceversa.

Laurian Ghinițoiu (born in 1985) uses photography as a tool for investigating and docu- menting urban space. He is trained as an architect at the G.M. Cantacuzino in Iași, Roma- nia, followed by a master’s degree at DIA, in Dessau, Germany. He is the winner of many international awards, as his photographs have been published on the cover of important architecture-focused magazines.

What began as a curiosity for Ghinițoiu soon turned into a passion and a way of life taking him on a continuous journey around the world. A nomad for several years, this way of looking helps him understand the complexity of architecture in the global context. Spontaneous meetings are the starting points of a series of ongoing photographic projects.
